The programme is slated to run until 22:00 with post-match reaction and interviews to follow the final whistle.

ENGLAND XI TEAM NEWS

The line-ups for this year’s game is bursting with recognisable names, including some legendary former Reds mostly turning out for England.

United’s all-time leading goalscorer Wayne Rooney will take to the dugout for the game in a player-manager role, joined by boxer Tyson Fury, former manager Harry Redknapp, actor Vicky McClure and David James as goalkeeping coach.

We’re also well-represented on the pitch, with Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick all lacing up their boots.

They’re joined by former footballers Jermain Defoe, Toni Duggan, Joe Hart, Steph Houghton, Aaron Lennon, Jill Scott, Phil Jagielka and Jack Wilshere.

There are also plenty of stars from outside of football getting involved, with Steven Bartlett, Alex Brooker, Angry Ginge, Tom Grennan, Dame Denise Lewis, Paddy McGuinness, Sir Mo Farah, Sam Quek, Louis Tomlinson, Roman Kemp and Bella Ramsey all set to feature.

PAST MEETINGS

England will be looking to retain their crown after a Frank Lampard-led side ran out 6-3 winners at Stamford Bridge last year, with Joe Cole, Ellen White, Bartlett (2), Defoe and Theo Walcott all getting on the scoresheet.

That result came as revenge from the last game held at Old Trafford in 2023, where goals from Asa Butterfield and Scholes were cancelled out by strikes from Usain Bolt, Robbie Keane (2) and Kem Cetinay.

Soccer Aid has been running since 2006, with the inaugural event also held at Old Trafford, where England beat a Rest of the World side that the late Diego Maradona scored for.

Originally held every two years, it became an annual game in 2019.

HOW TO DONATE

Soccer Aid is held to raise money for UNICEF, who look to use the power of football support children worldwide to grow up in safe and healthy environments.

Last year’s event raised a remarkable £15m, surpassing the £100m mark for the total raised through Soccer Aid since 2006.

You can donate to this year’s fund here.
