Paris-based club planning to steal Moses Simon from Nantes

Soccer

Super Eagles forward Moses Simon is set to leave Nantes this summer, and it just might be for another French Ligue 1 club, Soccernet.ng reports.

Simon is coming off his best-ever club campaign, having contributed eight goals and ten assists in 32 appearances.

The Super Eagles star was unarguably the best player at Nantes, contributing to more than 46 percent of their goals in the just-concluded Ligue 1 campaign.

However, Simon is expected to leave Nantes this summer. His contract at the club will end at the end of next season, and he is yet to pen a deal.

The 29-year-old left winger, who turns 30 in July has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League, with Everton and Leeds United reportedly interested. But Simon also has admirers in France. Marseille have also been mentioned, but nothing has come out the speculations.

Now, according to GFFN, newly-promoted Paris FC are willing to swoop in for Simon. The French outlets say that Paris FC recently tabled a bid of €5 million for Simon, which was rejected. Nonetheless, they are planning to return with a better offer.

The Super Eagles star is valued at €12 million on Transfermarkt, and Nantes would want something around that region before letting Simon leave.

Soccer Will Moses Simon join another French Ligue 1 club?

Moses Simon has formed a good reputation for himself in his six-year stay at the club. He has been their savior on different occasions, and he currently ranks 25th on their all-time goalscorers’ chart.

Perhaps, he even stands a chance of getting his own statue at the club if he spends three or four more years there.

Earlier on, Soccernet.ng reported that Simon was unwilling to leave Nantes, and that is quite understandable, considering all he has done with them. Moving to another Ligue 1 could put a dent on his legacy there.

If his suitors from abroad put in a decent bid, Simon would likely accept rather than to stay in France.

The summer transfer window will still be open for just over two months though, so Simon has enough time to make a decision.
