Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic, is undeniably a highly-awaited movie. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Ranbir Kapoor, Sunny Deol and Yash as Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman and Demon King Ravana, respectively. While an official announcement regarding the cast is awaited, a recent report suggests that the makers have roped in a South diva, who was recently seen with Salman Khan, to play Yash aka Demon King Ravana’s wife, Mandodari.

Kajal Aggarwal To Play Mandodari?
According to an exclusive report by Times of India, the makers have cast Kajal Aggarwal to essay the role of Mandodari. Notably, Mandodari is a character described in the Ramayana as a woman with wisdom, grace, virtue and loyalty, despite being the wife of Demon King Ravana.

A source revealed to the news portal that the Sikandar actress did her look test last week. Moreover, the source also claimed that Kajal has already started filming her part as Mandodari.
If the reports are anything to go by, Kajal and Yash will be teaming up for the first time.

Notably, earlier reports were abuzz that Dangal actress Sakshi Tanwar was locked to play Mandodari’s role in Ramayana. However, no further updates were obtained.
Updates on Ramayana
Reportedly, Yash has already started his month-long shoot in Mumbai. In this schedule, Yash will include the portions of Ramayana: Part One and a few sequences from Ramayana: Part Two. He commenced his journey with Ramayana by filming his solo sequences as Demon King Ravana. Even reports suggested that Ranbir, Sai and Sunny Deol will soon join Yash, to shoot their part. Currently, Tiwari is extensively filming Yash’s Lanka parts.
Announcement Video When?
According to the last reports, the title announcement video of Ramayana has been officially certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). While it was expected that the makers might drop the announcement video in a few days after the CBFC nod, there have been no updates on it.
