Hansi Flick makes decision on Ademola Lookman amid Barcelona links

Soccer

German tactician Hansi Flick has suggested Ademola Lookman as a potential transfer target for Barcelona in the summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman has enjoyed a significant upturn in performances and reputation since leaving RB Leipzig for Serie A side Atalanta three seasons ago.

The 27-year-old forward has contributed 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 games for La Dea. He was also key to their maiden European title, scoring a hattrick against a high-flying Bayer Leverkusen team.

That has put Lookman in the eyes of many top clubs in Europe. Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with the former Everton man in the past 18 months, but nothing concrete has emerged yet.

But it seems Barcelona might step up their attempts to get Lookman this summer. This is as Barca Times reports that Flick has informed the Barcelona board that he would like Lookman at the club.

The Barcelona gaffer sees Lookman as a financially attractive option. And with his talent, Lookman could be an important player for the Blaugrana.

Soccer When will Ademola Lookman leave Atalanta?

Ademola Lookman is currently in the balance, as he looks set to leave Atalanta in the summer.

After his issue with former boss Gian Pero Gasperini in the middle of the campaign, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the Super Eagles star’s exit from Atalanta this summer had already been sealed.

However, it is his next destination that is still covered in mystery. A number of top clubs have been linked with the 27-year-old forward, but nothing is settled yet.

Atalanta have set their asking price at €60 million. But that price could go down, depending on the situation. La Dea also know that they have to sell him, as they risk losing him for free next summer. But Atalanta have always been a selling club, and they will not want to lose their most-prized asset just like that.
