At night, Disneyland becomes a magnificent canvas with the return of the beloved “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular, which nods to Walt Disney Animation Studios films created over the past century at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif.

Earlier this month, Disneyland Parks kicked off its 70th anniversary with all the magic and flair expected from the family-friendly destination. The theme park and resort welcomed hundreds of guests, including VIBE, to preview the fresh food offerings, new entertainment, and more ahead of its public open.

While the “Happiest Place on Earth” is filled with endless Dole Whip and smiles, the cheerfulness is by design. For the milestone event, Disneyland took the parades, light shows, and fan-favorite rides to the next level, with brand-new experiences for all ages.

Standout attractions included the all-new “World of Color” show, which transforms Disneyland at night into a colorful music party featuring songs from the Jonas Brothers, Boyz II Men, and more, Toy Story Midway Mania, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the “Better Together: Pixar Pals Celebration” The new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! designed as an interactive party for small children, had adults and kids alike on their feet.

For foodies, the adventure kicks up a notch for both bites and sips. The 70th Celebration churro features blue raspberry icing drizzle and sprinkles on the classic dessert. The Black woman-owned Sip & Sonder location in Downtown Disney is perfect for signature lattes, frozen drinks, and more, with a Caribbean inspiration. For a full sit-down meal, Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, also in Downtown Disney, provided live music, welcoming service, and a tasty menu of New Orleans-inspired dishes.

As described by David Caranci, manager of creative development at Walt Disney Imagineering, they made sure to design the experience and push creative boundaries while connecting with multiple generations.

“We honor our past, we honor our history, culture, and tradition as we look to the future,” detailed Caranci during a presentation to the media and invited guests during an opening event earlier this spring. “We looked at ‘What is happy?’ ‘What does happy mean?’ he questioned and added, “We wanted this to be the best birthday party ever.

The Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration continues through Summer 2026. View the 2025 Disneyland Resorts event calendar on the official blog and plan a trip to the magical destination.
