“Not because you have to” – What Galatasaray fans did for Osimhen after Super Lig triumph

Soccer

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was left touched by an emotional gesture from Galatasaray fans following the club’s Super Lig title triumph at the Rams Park, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Yellow-Reds secured the 2024–25 Turkish Super Lig title with a dominant 3-0 victory against Kayserispor, and, once again, the Nigerian international played a key role—opening the scoring in the 26th minute with a powerful header from Gabriel Sara’s corner.

It was Osimhen’s 36th goal in 40 appearances this season, which further triggered his status as one of Galatasaray’s most influential players.

Beyond his contributions on the pitch, Osimhen has built a strong bond with the Galatasaray faithful, who are doing everything in their power to convince the forward to extend his stay in Istanbul.

As part of the growing #StayWithUsOsimhen campaign, Galatasaray fans unveiled a banner after the title win that read:

“Stay with us, Osi! Not because you have to, but because you want to.”

The heartfelt message captured the fans’ admiration for the 26-year-old, who has also helped the team lift the Turkish Cup this season and led them through a solid Europa League run, where he scored six goals in seven matches.

However, as Soccernet.ng earlier reported, Osimhen’s current deal does not include a buyout clause, meaning he is expected to return to his parent club Napoli before any permanent move can be negotiated.

While the forward’s future remains uncertain, the affection and support from Galatasaray fans could yet play a key role in his next decision.
