Bombing at Lady Gaga’s concert thwarted by police

Brazilian Police have revealed that they thwarted a planned bombing at a Lady Gaga concert on Saturday night.

According to the authorities, they have a person in custody in connection to the failed plot.

Rio de Janeiro Civil Police claim unidentified suspects were “virtually recruiting participants to carry out attacks” using improvised explosive devices.

The perpetrators were allegedly planning to gain notoriety on social media through the bombing.

Gaga’s concert, which is part of her Mayhem tour, was taking place at the popular Copacabana venue.

She announced the show last month on her Instagram, saying she was excited to return after having to cancel a show years prior due to an injury.

“It’s a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio — for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters,” the singer wrote.
