India Pakistan News Live Updates: MEA says talks with Pakistan only bilateral

Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly warned Pakistan against any future acts of terrorism, stating that India will no longer tolerate nuclear blackmail and will respond with decisive force.

“In future, if there is a terrorist attack on India, we will respond on our own terms, in our own way and at our chosen time,” PM Modi said, addressing Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel at the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on Tuesday, May 13.

“India will not back down to any kind of nuclear blackmail. We will not differentiate between a government that harbours terrorism and the masterminds of terror themselves,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi travelled to the Adampur air base in Punjab on Tuesday (May 13) morning and interacted with air force personnel. “Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) giving an update about his visit.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes after days of intense conflict between India and Pakistan following Indian strikes on terror sites in the neighbouring country on May 7 under Operation Sindoor.

As situation returns to normal, schools have reopened in Jammu and Kashmir. Educational institutions were shut after the tension escalated between India and Pakistan last week.

Meanwhile, IndiGo and Air India have cancelled flights from nine airports in several cities citing safety reasons.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also held a security review meeting with senior defence officials. The meeting was attended by Lt General Rajiv Ghai.
