Samsung has confirmed that it will be launching a new M-series smartphone in India next week. The launch is scheduled for April 17, where the company will launch the Galaxy M56 5G. Ahead of the launch, Samsung has confirmed a few details about the phone already. For instance, Samsung claims that the smartphone will be the slimmest in its segment with a thickness of 7.2mm. That’s the same as the thickness of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S25. This seems like the year of the slimmest phones. At the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, Samsung also announced its slimmest phone ever, the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy M56 5G will feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on both the front and rear panels for protection. The device is confirmed to come with a combination of a glass and metal build.

The company has also revealed that the Galaxy M56 will sport a 50-megapixel OIS (Optical Image stabilisation) triple camera setup. For selfies it will use a 12-megapixel HDR camera. The smartphone will come with all the Galaxy AI features too. The smartphone is also confirmed to support up to 4K 30 FPS videos in 10-bit HDR.

Additionally, Samsung says that the Galaxy M56 will feature the brightest sAMOLED+ display on a Galaxy M Series smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G: What to expect

The Galaxy M56 5G succeeds the Galaxy M55 5G that was launched in April last year. The Galaxy M55 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. It sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ sAMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera capabilities are a highlight of the phone with a triple rear setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor equipped with OIS. On the front, users get a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery, backed by 45W fast wired charging.

Samsung Galaxy M56 5G: Price in India?

The Galaxy M56 5G price will be revealed next week, but if we look at the pricing of the Galaxy M55 from last year, we can get a good sense of how the device will be priced. The Galaxy M55 base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage was launched at a starting price of Rs 24,999. The price of the highest variant went up to Rs 30,999. However, Samsung had announced bank offers of up to Rs 2,000 which brought the effective price of the phone under Rs 30,000 even for the highest model. This means, we can also expect the new Galaxy M56 5G to be priced similarly.
