EPL: Ndidi impressed by Liverpool star, two Super Eagles stars this season

Soccer

Leicester City and Nigeria midfielder, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi, has revealed he has been impressed by the performances of three Africans in the English Premier League this season, including two Super Eagles stars, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old hasn’t enjoyed his best campaign with the Foxes this season, as they’ve been relegated to the EFL Championship again in what has been a dreadful term under the tutelage of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Steve Cooper.

Nevertheless, Ndidi has been impressed by the performances of Mohammed Salah, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina in the English top-flight this season.

Salah has been impeccable for Liverpool, leading the Reds to their 20th Premier League title. Individually, he is leading the Golden Boot race, and has surpassed the record for the most goal contributions by a player in a 38-game Premier League season.

Ola Aina has been a crucial part of a Nottingham Forest side that have transitioned from surviving relegation to fighting for UEFA Champions League spots while Alex Iwobi is enjoying his best-ever season in front of goal as a Premier League player. Fulham are also looking to play European football for the first time in almost 20 years.

“Ola Aina, Mohammed Salah, and then I’ll say Alex Iwobi. Maybe because they’re Nigerians, but Ola Aina’s character is great.

“He’s [Ola Aina] amazing. He’s that guy who’s got zero problems, you know. I’m not saying he doesn’t have one, but it just feels like he knows how to solve people’s problems with his vibe and personality, but he’s done really well.

“I think he’s one of the fastest players I’ve seen. He doesn’t look it, but he’s so quick,” the former Genk midfielder said in an interview with DEEV.

Following Leicester’s relegation to the EFL Championship, Ndidi has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium, with several Turkish Super Lig sides registering interest.
