A viral moment from Donald Trump’s controversial Congress speech on Tuesday night left viewers “disgusted”, as the US President appeared to spit on himself by mistake
Donald Trump had an unfortunate moment during a recent speech where the US President appeared to spit on his own arm, as he was passionately speaking to the audience in attendance.
Trump covered several topics during the controversial speech, doubling down on his plans to impose trade tariffs on the US’ neighbors, Mexico and Canada, while asserting that peace between Russia and Ukraine was within reach.
And while he discussed several things that have made their way into the headlines, it was something else that came out of his mouth that is grabbing the headlines a few days after the speech took place – an apparent piece of spit.
A video that has gone viral online shows Trump speaking, when something white flies out of his mouth and lands on to the arm of his suit jacket.
One comment on the viral TikTok said: “That was a lie jumping out of his mouth”, while another read: “That’s still only like the 8th grossest thing to come out of his mouth tonight.”
Several other comments suggested that it was a tonsil stone, sparking fresh health concerns about the US President.
However, some online simply pointed out that this is something that happens to many public speakers, and that it is not uncommon, especially when speaking aloud to a big room.
In recent weeks, Trump has had a number of issues that have resulted in the public being concerned about his wellbeing – with many demanding answers. He has been limping lately and repeating himself, while he also attempted to cover up a massive bruise on his right hand.
Given his age, the concerns about Trump’s health are ongoing, similarly to how they were under previous President Joe Biden.
