Everything Victor Osimhen said after hitting goal milestone against Eyüpspor

Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor James Osimhen, was delighted to have helped his side by getting on the scoresheet against Eyüpspor, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old set up the opening goal at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadyumu for ex-Freiburg midfielder, Roland Sallai, in the 29th minute before finding the back of the net in the 71st minute himself.

Osimhen headed towards the far post from a corner kick, and Sallai was there to tap it home from close range to break the deadlock for Okan Buruk’s side.

Alvaro Morata came off the bench to score a brace after he’d initially gone five games without finding the back of the net.

Osimhen’s strike tonight was his 31st of the season for Galatasaray this season in all competitions. He’s also provided eight assists. The ex-LOSC Lille man equalled his best goalscoring form of the 2022/2023 season that saw him lift the Scudetto with Napoli.

After the game, the Napoli loanee was delighted his side sealed all three points in style, as it lit up the path for them to become league champions.

“I’m very happy because we won. Winning this match was very important. We needed more points. I’m very happy to have contributed with 1 goal and 1 assist. I’m also happy for Morata.

“These points are very important on the path to the championship. As Galatasaray, we are focused on ourselves and approach each match separately. We will look forward to the next match,” the former VFL Wolfsburg striker said in quotes revealed by SPOR.

With five league games left to play, Galatasaray are currently five points clear at the top of the Turkish Super Lig. Victor Osimhen is leading the race for the league’s golden boot with 22 goals, three above Krzysztof Piatek.
