Circle Unveils Network for Instant Global Payments

The Circle Payments Network (CPN) is designed to simplify how money moves globally.

CPN connects banks, fintechs, and digital wallets to enable near-instant cross-border payments. This is using regulated stablecoins. This is very important news for global payments.

CPN: Revolutionizing Real-Time Cross-Border Payments

According to the World Bank, cross-border payments can take more than a full business day. Also, it costs over 6% per transaction. So, delays that often hit emerging markets the hardest. These inefficiencies stem from outdated systems, compliance bottlenecks, and differing time zones across global financial hubs.

CPN is designed to solve this by creating a new payments layer built on blockchain technology. It leverages Circle’s USDC and EURC stablecoins to provide always-on, compliant settlement. Banks, payment providers, and fintechs can now access real-time transfers with full transparency and security. For example, a small fintech in Africa can now move funds to a European supplier in seconds. This is without waiting for banking hours or dealing with high FX fees.

To ensure trust and compliance, CPN enforces strict eligibility standards for participants. This includes licensing, AML (anti-money laundering) checks, and strong cybersecurity frameworks. This structure allows Circle to bridge the fast-moving world of digital assets. Of course, with the regulatory rigor expected by traditional financial institutions.

Built for Institutions, Ready for Developers

CPN goes beyond simple transfers. With smart contracts and modular APIs, financial developers can build custom workflows. For example, payroll, supplier payments, and treasury operations. This flexibility means that the payments network isn’t just fast; it’s programmable.

In payments, the network always wins—and Fireblocks has been building the digital asset network from day one.

Industry giants like BNY Mellon, Deutsche Bank, and Standard Chartered are already working with Circle to shape CPN’s development. Meanwhile, fintechs across the globe, from dLocal to Coins.ph and Flutterwave, are lined up as design partners to bring the network to life in real-world settings. Digital infrastructure firms like Fireblocks are also onboard. This expands institutional access and ensures seamless integration with existing custody and trading systems.
