Antoine Griezmann va vivre une dernire saison l’Atletico.

Longtemps courtisé en Major League Soccer, l’attaquant Antoine Griezmann a décidé de rester à l’Atletico Madrid avec une prolongation à venir jusqu’en juin 2027. Mais en réalité, le nouveau contrat du Français est une manoeuvre pour arranger les Colchoneros sur le plan financier.

Antoine Griezmann a tranché. Longtemps tiraillé pour son avenir ces derniers mois, l’attaquant a pris la décision de rester à l’Atletico Madrid pour la saison 2025-2026 malgré son intérêt pour la Major League Soccer.

En continuant son aventure avec les Rojiblancos, le Français s’est même entendu avec ses dirigeants concernant une prolongation de son contrat jusqu’en juin 2027.

Une manoeuvre cachée pour arranger l’Atletico !

En réalité, ce nouveau bail du joueur de 34 ans est un moyen détourné pour soulager les finances des Colchoneros, d’après les informations du quotidien Marca ce vendredi. Actuellement, le champion du monde 2018 doit percevoir un salaire net de 8 millions d’euros en 2025-2026. Et lors de cette prolongation, cette somme va être répartie sur les deux années de contrat du Tricolore.

L’objectif de cette manoeuvre ? Aider l’Atletico face au fair-play financier de la Liga. Par le passé, l’actuel 3e du championnat d’Espagne a d’ores et déjà utilisé cette stratégie pour lisser les émoluments de plusieurs joueurs sur la durée, comme Vitolo ou Thomas Lemar. De son côté, Griezmann a bien évidemment reçu la garantie de percevoir l’intégralité de cet argent malgré un départ toujours prévu à l’été 2026.

En effet, le natif de Mâcon n’a absolument pas oublié son rêve américain. Il l’a seulement repoussé. Dans un an, Griezmann a prévu de filer aux Etats-Unis et l’Atletico s’est donc engagé à le payer en 2026-2027 sans qu’il porte les couleurs du club et en facilitant sa sortie. Un deal gagnant-gagnant pour terminer une belle histoire entre les deux camps. Pour la fin d’une véritable légende des Rojiblancos.
