Lazio head coach Marco Baroni has admitted the two-time Serie A winners need the magic possessed by Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and the club’s other youngsters, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old joined the one-time UEFA Super Cup winners during last summer’s transfer window. Fisayo hasn’t been his coach’s go-to midfielder in the league, as he’s started just 11 of his side’s 32 Serie A games.
Nonetheless, he’s scored five goals and provided three assists in 28 games for Le Gli Aquilotti this season across all competitions.

Ahead of Lazio’s second leg fixture of the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals against Norwegian side, Bodo/Glimt, Baroni has urged the club’s youngsters to step up following their 2-0 first leg deficit.
“It’s our young people on whom the future will be based. – We need them. We have to play this game, live it, feel it, we need that,” the Italian gaffer said in his pre-match conference as relayed by Lalazio.
While the Eagles are two goals down in the tie, Baroni backed his side to give their all at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome tomorrow.
“The team has to play a centred game. Then there are moments of the modalities. The ability of a team, which knows the importance of a race, must also have the ability to this reading.
“I talked to the guys, I know what advantages the atmosphere and crowd can bring, but I don’t want an alibi. Tomorrow we must achieve the performance with the right energy and presence. We find a great team, strong. We have to play like I said.
“We will have to give everything and expend all energy without saving and without remorse. When an athlete and a team come out empty-pockets, it means that they gave everything and did what they could,” the former Hellas Verona boss concluded.
Should Lazio fall to a defeat in the tie, they’ll fall back to focusing on a finish in the Serie A top six as they look to feature in European competitions next season. They’re currently sixth, five points away from top four with six games left till the end of the season.
