“We need to start again”

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has stated that his goal with Udinese is to finish the Serie A season in tenth position, Soccernet.ng reports.

Okoye has had a decent campaign with Udinese in the Serie A. The Super Eagles star has featured in 19 games, keeping three clean sheets. He has saved 66.3% of the shots he has faced this season.

The Bianconeri have had a decent campaign for their level, as they sit 11th, 16 points off the last European football spot which is currently occupied by Lazio with six games left.

Right above them is Torino, who also have 40 points. Then, AC Milan sit ninth, with 51 points. The season is already in the homestretch, and Okoye has admitted that he is eyeing a 10th-place finish.

“The goal is to maintain tenth place, we need to regain our heads and strength. We are angry, but in the four defeats we had some opportunities, there are many things that we did well and we need to start again from those,” Okoye said, per tuttoudinese.

Udinese have a decent fixture schedule, as they face Torino, Bologna, Cagliari, Monza, Juventus, and Fiorentina in their last six games. So, they should be able to finish tenth.

Soccer How Maduka Okoye has become an important player at Udinese

Maduka Okoye has made a good comeback since his career experienced a lull three years ago. Since he left Watford for Udinese, he has retraced his steps and is now looking like the shinning star many fans saw when he was at Sparta Rotterdam.

If not for injury, he would have played all of Udinese’s games this season. Nonetheless, he will look to continue his impressive performances for the Bianconeri and translate that form to the Super Eagles.
