Solutions for Accounting open new head office

Mercia Marina, Derbyshire, Wednesday 5th February 2025

Solutions for Accounting has marked its continued growth, and 27 years in business, by opening a modern head office in the heart of Derbyshire.

On Thursday the 30th of January, the firm held a welcome event for members of the local business community at Mercia Marina. This stylish and technologically savvy office offers picturesque views of Derbyshire’s canals. It also provides a vital hub for the firm’s remote and hybrid workers. It is hoped that its opening offers expanded support for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the region – as well as the potential for further job opportunities in the Midlands.

Solutions for Accounting – a leading provider of finance and business management software – has a proud history of supporting the local community through various initiatives.

Empowering local SMEs

Solutions for Accounting has been instrumental in helping local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) gain a competitive edge by providing access to top-tier finance and business management software.

Fundraising and charity support

The company actively engages in fundraising for local charities and encourages its staff to get personally involved. Employees are provided with time off to work within charitable settings and participate in fundraising activities.

Sponsorship of cultural and sporting activities

Solutions for Accounting is dedicated to fostering cultural and sporting activities within the community. This includes sponsoring local football, netball, and cricket teams, as well as maintaining a 24-year sponsorship of the Nottingham Panthers ice hockey team.

In light of the tightening of devolved funding following Brexit and changes in fiscal policy, Solutions for Accounting views its role in supporting community and local sporting initiatives as a cornerstone of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

Community support has become increasingly important over the past few years with the added pressures of the cost of living crisis and Covid-19.

Cake and prosecco with guests from across the Midlands

The welcome event kicked off at 2.30 pm with guests offered cake and prosecco upon arrival. Attendees included local businesses; representatives of the East Midlands Chamber and Barclays UK; and celebrity guests Ollie Betteridge and Jordan Kelsall of the Nottingham Panthers. Ollie and Jordan joined Solutions for Accounting’s Managing Director, Iain Barker, in cutting the opening ceremony’s official ribbon.

Jordan Kelsall said of the event: “It’s really good to be here and see Solutions open their new offices. They’ve been longtime sponsors of the Panthers, so it is great to see them continually growing. We’d like to thank them for all their support”.

Growth was a theme reiterated by Iain Barker, who said: “I’m immensely proud of how far we’ve come over the past 27 years. We have developed an incredibly talented team and forged strong relationships throughout the community. This event is an important opportunity to celebrate that”.
