bitcoins Brazil's Meliuz Adopts Bitcoin Treasury Strategy

On March 6, the company announced that it had started purchasing BTC.

It is joining a growing number of traditional finance companies incorporating Bitcoin into their portfolios.

Meliuz Allocates 10% of Reserves to Bitcoin for Long-Term Growth

Meliuz, known for its cashback and financial technology services, has taken a bold step. They will allocate up to 10% of its cash reserves into Bitcoin. The company’s first move was to buy 45.72 BTC for around $4.1 million, with an average price of $90,296. This strategy signals Meliuz’s confidence in Bitcoin’s potential to drive long-term growth.

The company’s Bitcoin strategy aims to deliver substantial returns. Meliuz has created a Bitcoin Strategic Committee to oversee its treasury operations. The committee will focus on expanding the strategy, including making Bitcoin the company’s primary treasury asset.

“We believe the treasury strategy focused on BTC has huge potential for maximizing value,” Meliuz said in a statement.

This move comes just days after Meliuz made changes to its board of directors. On March 3, the company welcomed Guilherme Bandeira, a well-known Bitcoin advocate, to the board. Bandeira emphasized that Bitcoin could be “an even better alternative to the Brazilian real”. He highlighted the growing importance of BTC as a hedge against traditional currencies.

More About Bitcoin Treasuries

The most important KPI for BTC treasury companies isn’t revenue or profit margins—it’s BTC Yield. This metric measures how effectively a company grows its Bitcoin holdings over time. This is without diluting shareholder value. Unlike traditional financial metrics, BTC Yield focuses on the growth of the company’s BTC reserves through strategic investments or returns. This ensures that shareholders benefit from the appreciation of the crypto rather than issuing more shares.
