Chelsea and Arsenal scouting Serie A striker

Marc Cucurella’s long-range strike earned Chelsea a narrow 1-0 win over struggling Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Enzo Maresca’s side were given the opportunity to go ahead from the penalty spot in the first half, but Cole Palmer failed to convert for the first time in his senior career.

The hosts continued to dominate but couldn’t break the deadlock until Cucurella’s long range strike found the bottom corner.

The win moves Maresca’s side back into the top four and puts them on course to qualify for the Champions League next term.

Now, it appears that the West London outfit have been scouting a Serie A sensation.

As reported by TBR Football, Chelsea are one of a number of Premier League clubs to have scouted Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram recently.

The report claims that the Blues – as well as Liverpool and Arsenal – had scouts in attendance to watch the Frenchman score against Feyenoord in the Champions League last week.

Thuram has been watched by Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in recent weeks

Thuram, 27, joined Inter in 2023 after leaving German side Borussia Monchengladbach and has since scored 30 goals in 82 matches across all competitions.

This season he has scored 15 goals, including 13 in Serie A and two in the Champions League.

The France international is contracted to Inter until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but the report claims that the trio of English sides are weighing up a potential move for the forward when the transfer window reopens this summer.

At present there is a £70 million release clause in the player’s contract, but the report claims that Inter are hoping to negotiate a new deal that could see the clause either increased or removed entirely.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are all on the hunt for attacking reinforcements and could be set to battle it out for Thuram’s signature this summer.
