Kaduna gov intervenes, directs urgent payment of dismissed employee’s benefits

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has directed the immediate payment of all entitlements owed to Malam Mohammed Bature Jibrin, whose plight recently gained public attention after his photos went viral on social media.

Jibrin, a former state employee, was reportedly dismissed in 2020 without receiving his benefits, a situation alleged to have contributed to his declining mental health.

Governor Sani, in response to widespread concern in a post on his X handle on Tuesday evening, ordered that his entitlements be settled before the end of the week.

“As a gesture of compassion, the Governor has instructed that Jibrin’s entitlements be paid before the end of the week.”

Beyond Jibrin’s case, Governor Sani has also summoned a meeting with the Kaduna State Pension Bureau to address similar cases.

“He has summoned an emergency meeting with the Kaduna State Pension Bureau to address other similar cases, particularly those who were dismissed or retired without receiving their owed entitlements.”
