Jennifer Coolidge Reacts to Greg’s Return in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3: ‘I Hope They Do Something Terrible to Him’

Jennifer Coolidge has some opinions about the reappearance of Greg, her “White Lotus” character’s possibly murderous husband played by Jon Gries, in the show’s third season.

“Jon Gries has shown up,” Coolidge told Forbes. “I hope he gets it! I hope they do something terrible to him.”

On the second season of “The White Lotus,” Coolidge’s character Tanya suffered a fatal fall off a boat while she was trying to escape a group of men who were likely trying to kill her. The situation birthed the memed line, “These gays, they’re trying to murder me!”

Tanya had discovered that the men were linked to her husband Greg (played by Gries) and that one of them, Quentin (Tom Hollander), was likely Greg’s lover. She suspected that Greg had set up a scheme for her money, ordering Quentin to kill her. Tanya and Greg originally met in season one, and Greg was known as someone who worked for the Bureau of Land Management and also terminally ill.

Gries returns in season three with the new name Gary, and he’s hanging around a White Lotus resort in Thailand with his girlfriend Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon). He’s not the only returning character from season one: Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) is also in Thailand, and she certainly knew Greg before he was going as Gary.

Coolidge said she’s “envious as hell” that she’s not in season three and that she could tell the season would be good from its first episode.

“I just felt like everything he set up – it’s really eerie – you’re not quite sure what people are up to yet. My guess? Something’s going to go horribly wrong. I think it’s really going to go wrong,” Coolidge told Forbes.
