The BWFC awarded Business Woman of the Year Cathy Geis

BWFC President Ellie White-Stevens presented Doterra representative Cathy Geis with BWFC Business Woman of the Year.

Better Community Award goes to Patti Kadkhodaian

At a recent meeting the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta awarded Doterra representative Cathy Geis with Business Woman of the Year. At the same meeting Golf Rider co-owner Patti Kadkhodaian was presented with the Better Community Award.

Each year the BWFC offers two major awards. Organization members nominate and vote on the Business Woman of the Year award. This last year there were a record twelve nominees.

A retired educator in addition to her small business, Cathy Geis serves on the Board of the BWFC as Membership Chair. She coordinates monthly networking meetings for the organization, including The Gathering at Grazing Here, next taking place at noon on Friday, February 14. Interested business women can visit the website at www.bwfcc.org to register.

Why did Cathy Geis win? According to BWFC President and The Citizen Editor Ellie White-Stevens, it’s all about her professionalism, “Cathy Geis really has it together. She is 100% reliable, friendly, and intelligent. She is a natural problem solver who is always willing to step into the gap for us. Our members trust her and love her. She’s been known to call members and visitors who register and then don’t come to meetings just to make sure they are okay. It’s her big heart that makes the difference.  It really showed up even in nominations. She received not one, but three nominations for this award! She absolutely deserved to be honored in this way.”

BWFC President Ellie White-Stevens with BWFC Co-Founder and Better Community Award Winner Patti Kadkhodain

The Better Community Award is offered to a business person who helps the BWFC organization to be successful and is nominated and voted on by the BWFC Board. “This year we were unanimous,” said White-Stevens. “Patti Kadkhodaian, besides being one of the founders of the BWFC, also donates her business location at Golf Rider for our winter fundraising event. She’s the President of Rotary, and the Board of Advisors Chair for our BWFC Board. Patti lives a life of selfless service. She’s an incredible human being to whom we are pleased to give our BWFC Better Community Award.”

The Business Women of Fayette and Coweta is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that exists to network women in order to give back for a better community. More information about the BWFC can be found at www.bwfcc.org.
