Robert Pattinson used to have a fanbase that consisted mainly of female fans, but over the last few years, there’s been a significant shift in that demographic.

The 38-year-old actor recently mentioned that he noticed something new in his fanbase that he hadn’t experienced before. While attending the London premiere of his new movie Mickey17 on Thursday, February 13, Pattinson told a journalist from the Alternative Press how he feels about this shift.

“It’s quite strange,” the Good Time star admitted to the outlet when referring to the number of male fans that made it out to the premiere of his newest movie to support him before he added, “There’s like a bunch of guys, which is a new one for me!”

Pattinson broke into the scene with his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise in 2008 and has since taken on new roles that somehow made him more popular with the male demographic.

Since the end of the franchise in 2012, Pattinson has been attached to a number of projects and has received praise for his work on films like Good Time, The Lighthouse, and The Batman.

A number of fans seem to believe that the shift can be attributed to his portrayal of Gotham City’s caped crusader in Matt Reeves’ 2022 reboot of the DC character.

One fan on Reddit commented on the actor’s thoughts, writing, “must be weird for him. back then things like justin bieber/twilight etc were strictly for girls and guys had this weird extreme hatred of them. It wasn’t until 2015 or so Bieber started having more wide appeal, and for Pattinson ‘The Batman.'”

A second fan admitted, “I wasn’t that into him back in the twilight era but these days I feel he only gets more handsome with time omgggg,” while a third felt the complete opposite and wrote, “I really don’t like him for some reason. I used to be quite neutral but in the last 5 years he’s started to rub me the wrong way lol.”

Love him or hate him, Pattinson is set to reprise his role as the Dark Knight in The Batman Part II, which was originally scheduled to be released in 2025 but has since been delayed to October 2027.
