Director Rotimi Raji collapses, dies in bathroom

The Nigerian film industry is mourning the tragic loss of renowned movie director, Rotimi Raji, popularly known as Genius. His sudden passing has sent shockwaves throughout Nollywood, leaving colleagues, friends, and fans deeply heartbroken.

Reports indicate that the filmmaker slumped and tragically passed away in his bathroom, just a day after the widely celebrated Valentine’s Day. The unexpected nature of his death has left many in disbelief and sorrow.

Genius, who resided alone in the Baruwa, Ipaja area of Lagos, was discovered lifeless after a concerned neighbor grew worried about his unusual silence. The neighbor, who had persistently called out to him without receiving any response, decided to investigate further.

Upon noticing that one of his windows was slightly open, the neighbor peered inside and was met with a distressing sight—Raji’s motionless body lying on the floor. The devastating discovery has left the entire Nollywood community in shock.

Confirming the sad news, popular actor and colleague, Lanre Adediwura, took to social media to express his grief and pay tribute to the late director. He shared a heartfelt message, writing:

“Till we meet again my friend, @rotimiraji. Thank you for blessing the film industry with your exceptional talent. Every moment you captured with the lens will speak after you. Rest on, champ ????????????.”
