The Sixers are so bad that Paul George finally got bullied into stopping his podcast

Basketball

Paul George found the right time to buckle down and focus on basketball: When the Sixers are 20-38, on pace to miss the playoffs, and the team has already shut down Joel Embiid, knowing this season is a wash.

George made the announcement that the Podcast P Show would go on hiatus while he focuses on his body, mind, and trying to make the playoffs.

It’s not like stopping his podcast is actually going to help the woeful Sixers this season, but one would think the time to buckle down and focus on basketball would have been, I don’t know, three months ago when there was time to do something? Instead PG-13 is shutting down the pod in the middle of nine game losing streak — which is the longest in the entire NBA.

The whole Paul George experiment in Philadelphia has been a nightmare. He’s averaging a career-low 16.4 points per game, and shooting 35.8% from beyond the arc. To make matters even worse the Clippers are better than the Sixers without George, now at 32-20 on the year with Norman Powell breaking out in a starting role.

At least George cancelled his podcast to chase a championship he’s never going to win this season because the Sixers are horrific. The Nets have a better record than them.

On the plus side: While PG-13 and the Sixers are struggling on the court, he’s amazing at posting clips from his podcast. In the month of February he posted 16 clips on Twitter alone, and in the same span the Sixers went 1-9.

Surely this will be the difference maker Philly has been looking for.
