Saskatoon police report second body found outside in Fairhaven neighbourhood

A 96-year-old man was found dead outside on Tuesday morning — the second time a body has been found this week in freezing temperatures.

Saskatoon police say a 96-year-old man was found dead outside on Tuesday morning — the second time a body has been found in the west-side neighbourhood of Fairhaven this week amid freezing temperatures.

The man’s body was found in the 200 block of Lochrie Cres. around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police said in a Wednesday news release.

An investigation is underway, bit foul play is not believed to be a factor, the release said. The man’s name was not released.

On Monday, a 19-year-old woman was found dead in a park along Pendygrasse Road. Police have also said foul play is not suspected in her death.

The provincial coroner’s service is investigating.
