Light Novel ‘Ansatsusha de Aru Ore no Status ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi no da ga’ Gets TV Anime in Fall 2025

TMS Entertainment opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Matsuri Akai‘s Ansatsusha de Aru Ore no Status ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi no da ga (My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s) on Tuesday and revealed the main cast, staff, teaser visual, and a teaser promo. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2025.

Voice actors Takeo Ootsuka (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) and Saku Mizuno (Bocchi the Rock!) are starring as Akira Oda and Amelia Rosequartz, respectively.

Akai began writing the action fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in January 2017. Overlap began printing the series under the Overlap Bunko imprint, with illustrations by Touzai (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!). The fourth volume released in February 2021. The series has a cumulative 1.2 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

A manga adaptation by Hiroyuki Aigamo began on the Comic Gardo website in July 2018. The sixth volume is scheduled to go on sale on February 25.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English. The fourth light novel volume released physically in April 2022 and the fifth manga volume shipped in May 2024.

Synopsis
Oda Akira is the kind of guy who people forget is even there. His unassuming nature pays off, though, when his entire class is swept away to a fantasy world, and he slips easily into his new role as a silent assassin. Between his suspiciously high starting stats and too many details that don’t fit, Akira is sure something is wrong. But digging into royal secrets is a dangerous game, and when Akira uncovers an evil scheme, he also makes a powerful enemy—the very king who brought him to this world!
