Retired Italian striker lauds Osimhen, warns Napoli loanee to avoid joining Motta’s Juventus

Former Italy and Bayern Munich striker, Luca Toni, has sent a strong message to Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, telling the Napoli loanee to quench any thoughts of joining Juventus, Soccernet.ng reports.

Juventus’ Sporting Director, Cristiano Giuntoli, was instrumental in Osimhen’s move from French side, LOSC Lille, to Napoli in the summer of 2022, during his time in Naples.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli after he attempted to force a move away from the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona. Juventus are interested in the Super Eagles striker.

With Vlahovic set to leave the club, the Bianconeri are looking to sign a striker, with links to Isak and Osimhen present, but Toni urged the Nigerian to avoid Motta’s system.

“I’m unsure if it would make much difference. At the end of the season, everyone will have to make assessments, starting with Juventus, who must decide what kind of striker they want to rely on.

“Osimhen offers more depth than Vlahovic but perhaps links the play even less than Dusan. So, I’m unsure if it would make much difference for Thiago Motta,” the 2006 FIFA World Cup winner said in quotes revealed by Football Italia.

Osimhen has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 23 games for Galatasaray since joining on loan from Napoli in September.
