Arsenal contact Atalanta over Mateo Retegui

Arsenal are interested in signing Mateo Retegui from Atalanta in the summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffSide. The report has claimed that the Gunners have already made contact with the Serie A club over a potential deal for Retegui.

Retegui joined Atalanta from Italian rivals Genoa in the summer of 2024 and has been in fine form this season. The Italy international striker has scored 23 goals and provided four assists in 35 matches in all competitions. Retegui scored nine goals and gave three assists in 31 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.

Arsenal are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 53 points from 25 matches, seven points behind leaders Liverpool. Meanwhile, Atalanta currently find themselves third in the Serie A standings with 51 points from 25 games, five points behind leaders Napoli.
