NFL Playoffs 2025: Eagles will host the Rams in the Divisional Round

The Philadelphia Eagles’ opponent for the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL playoffs is now known.

With the Los Angeles Rams blowing out the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, it’ll be the Rams heading to Philly for a January 19 game that kicks off at 3:00 PM Eastern.

According to polling here at Bleeding Green Nation, the majority of Eagles fans got what they wanted:

I was among those in the minority who thought that the Vikings were preferable, largely due to Sam Darnold skepticism. I’d say I wasn’t wrong about feeling that way; he sure did stink on Monday night.

Nevertheless, the Eagles should still feel good about their chances to beat the Rams. In part because they already did it earlier this season when they went to SoFi Stadium in Week 12 and won by a final score of 37 to 20. Six of those Rams points came in garbage time with one minute left.

Saquon Barkley absolutely went off against the Rams earlier this season, logging a career-high 255 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. He also caught all four of his targets for 47 receiving yards, giving him 302 total yards from scrimmage. The Rams’ defense will have their work cut out for them trying to slow Barkley down.

The Eagles’ excellent defense, meanwhile, could be tested by Matthew Stafford. Including Monday night’s playoff win, he’s thrown 13 touchdown passes to just one interception over his last eight games. Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp are quite capable of putting up big receiving numbers.

Ultimately, the Eagles should be expected to win and advance to the NFC Championship Game. There’s a reason they opened as 6.5-point home favorites, according to FanDuel.
