Americans Abroad Weekend Rewind: Richards, Sargent, and more

Crystal Palace’s strong road form in Premier League play continued Sunday with the Eagles earning a crucial victory in Manchester.

Chris Richards shined as Oliver Glasner’s men earned a 2-0 road win over Manchester United. The American centerback logged a strong 90 minutes at Old Trafford, leading all players in duels won (9) and tackles completed (3).

Richards made several defensive clearances in the match, finishing with 10 overall as Crystal Palace extended its road unbeaten league run to eight matches.

Crystal Palace leapfrogged Manchester United with the result and will next have eight days off until they travel to Doncaster Rovers in FA Cup play.

In England, Brenden Aaronson and Josh Sargent both scored in EFL Championship play.

In Italy, Gianluca Busio started for Venezia, but the club lost away from home.

In France, Mark McKenzie scored his first goal for Toulouse.

In Germany, John Tolkin made his first start for Holstein Kiel. James Sands and St. Pauli tied Noahkai Banks and Augsburg.

In Scotland, Cameron Carter-Vickers returned as Celtic defeated Motherwell away from home. Jonathan Tomkinson and Ross County loss at Rangers.

Elsewhere, Alex Zendejas assisted once in Club America’s lopsided Liga MX win. Marlon Fossey continued to rack up minutes for Standard Liege. Richie Ledezma and PSV dropped points on the road.
