Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has reportedly caught the attention of English Premier League clubs following an impressive start to his career in Italy, Soccernet.ng reports.

Dele-Bashiru joined SS Lazio from Turkish club Hatayspor in July 2024 on a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy under certain conditions. Lazio paid €2 million for the dynamic 23-year-old midfielder, securing his services until the end of the season.

The Nigerian has hit the ground running in Serie A, displaying his abilities both domestically and in Europe.

In just four Europa League games, the former Manchester City academy player has contributed two goals and two assists.

His Serie A performances have been equally impactful, featuring in 11 matches and scoring twice, including a vital goal in a 1-1 draw with high-flying Atalanta in December.

Dele-Bashiru’s standout performances have not gone unnoticed.

Lazio News 24 reports that he is among a handful of Lazio players being monitored by unnamed Premier League clubs.

A potential return to England would mark a significant homecoming for the Hamburg-born midfielder, who grew up in England.

Dele-Bashiru joined Manchester City’s youth setup at the age of eight and spent 11 years at the club.

While he never made a senior appearance for City, he enjoyed success with their youth teams, including winning the U18 Premier League Cup.

The midfielder began his professional career at Sheffield Wednesday in 2020, helping the Owls secure promotion to the Championship two years later.

In July 2023, he moved to Turkey to join Hatayspor on a three-year deal, where he enjoyed a stellar debut season.

Dele-Bashiru scored eight goals in the Turkish Süper Lig, finishing as the club’s joint-top scorer alongside Carlos Strandberg.

Remarkably, his decisive strike on the final matchday secured Hatayspor’s survival in the top tier.

After just one season in Turkey, Dele-Bashiru made the leap to Serie A with Lazio, further enhancing his reputation.

During his time in Rome, he also earned his international breakthrough, making five appearances for Nigeria’s Super Eagles. His contributions have been significant, with two crucial goals: in a World Cup qualifier against South Africa and AFCON qualifier against Libya.
