ITV North Shore full cast list as Joanne Froggatt and Game of Thrones’ John Bradley lead Aussie drama

While a new TV series called the North Shore has been aired on ITVX, it will debut on ITV on Saturday, January 4. The detective series is set in Australia, but has some familiar British actors taking centre stage, including Downton Abbey and Liar star Joanne Froggatt, as well as HBO’s Game of Thrones’ John Bradley.

North Shore was originally released in Australia in 2023 with UK fans now being treated to the six-episode drama on Sunday, December 29, on the streamer ITVX. The show will also be debuting on ITV on Saturday, January 4, at 9.30pm with a single episode dropping every week thereafter.

The six-part series is a murder mystery about a British and Australian detective who are forced to work together on the murder investigation of a UK politician’s daughter in Sydney. The official description reads: “Set on and around Sydney Harbour, North Shore follows the clash of cultures when a British and an Australian detective team up to solve a complex murder mystery and uncover a conspiracy with international political consequences.”

  • Joanne Froggatt leads the cast as politician Abigail Crawford. Froggatt is known for her work in ITV’s Downton Abbey, Sherwood, Liar, Angela Black and Breathtaking.
  • John Bradley is Detective Max Drummond. The English actor is best recognised for playing Samwell Tarly in HBO’s Game of Thrones. More recently, he was behind Jack Rooney in Netflix ‘s sci-fi drama 3 Body Problem.
  • Kirsty Sturgess will join the cast as D.S Meg Driscoll. Fans may recognise Sturgess from Thirteen Lives.
  • Rob Carlton will star as Lloyd Macklin. The Australian actor starred in the miniseries Paper Giants.
  • Rhys Muldoon will be acting the role of Andrew Newell in North Shore. Previously, he starred in the 2022 action thriller Interceptor.
  • Matt Passmore is Greg Hardy in the ITV series. The Australian actor has also starred in the ABC series Frayed as well as Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why.
  • Chris Alosio will play the role of D.C. Paea Leniu. The New Zealand actor starred in the TV series Surviving Summer.
