This website is about NFL Draft prospects, but the truth is that it’s widely read by many people including in high school and college football. For that reason, it is important to occasionally speak about recruiting.
If you’re a high school athlete reading this right now, here’s some free advice: commit early. Like, now. As the NCAA contact period has opened up, college coaches are in schools. If they have offered you, and if you have talked with the college head coach, commit right now.
Why? The recruiting landscape is changed. You can no longer “play the field,” as if you’re a dude with six-pack abs looking to find a supermodel. Nope, you gotta adjust your expectations. With roster sizes expanding and teams increasingly acquiring players in the portal, there’s no time to waste.
Commit to that FCS or MAC school. Go and dominate at the next level. If your aspirations are higher, and if you come ready to perform, hit the portal the following season and climb your way up. If a MAC or FCS program has issued a committable offer, it shows they want you. Go where you are needed and make the most of it.
