YouTube Launches 2024 Music Recap

YouTube is once again taking a leaf out of Spotify’s book, with the latest release of its own take on Spotify’s yearly wrap up of each users’ music interests.

YouTube’s Music Recap will provide YouTube Music users with an overview of the artists that they listened to the most throughout the year, so they can get a sense of what types of music grabbed their attention in 2024.

As per YouTube:

“Music lovers can explore their 2024 Music Recap page on the YouTube and YouTube Music app and scroll through to see their personalized stats (top artists, songs, moods, genres, albums, playlists and more) from this year. With exciting new features, improved animations, enhanced photo quality, and the addition of podcast insights, your 2024 Music Recap is designed to celebrate all the sounds that made this year memorable.

YouTube’s Music Recap will include new animated screens to help guide you through your year in review, as well as data on top artists, genres, and more.

As you can see in the second image above, YouTube has also added a listening timeline, which will highlight key moments in your music listening journey throughout the year.

It’s a good way to enhance music engagement, by both providing users with this insight, and adding shareable data cards to promote YouTube Music.

And maybe, it’ll help you find even more music that you like, by highlighting the genres that you’ve delved into the most this year.

You can check out your YouTube Music recap here, while there’s also a Gaming Recap available too, which will show gamers the top gaming content they engaged with over the last 12 months.
