Tottenham injuries: Every player out of Carabao Cup quarter-final against Man Utd

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury woes have refused to ease in time for their huge Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United.

Ange Postecoglou has previously spoken about his knack for claiming silverware in year two, and although Spurs harbour hopes of a deep Europa League run, this competition is doubtlessly the best chance of breaking their 16-year duck.

A once unified fanbase is beginning to question the long-term competence of the manager, but Spurs’ underlying metrics combined with just how good they can be suggest Ange is a man worth sticking by. However, more factions of Spurs supporters could start to turn if Thursday’s hosts are beaten in N17. This is a big game.

Unfortunately, Spurs’ injury list remains extensive for United’s visit.

Here’s the latest Tottenham team news ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero returned sooner than expected for Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Chelsea two Sundays ago, but neither player finished the contest.

While Romero picked up a different injury (groin) to the foot issue he’d recovered from, Van de Ven re-aggravated his hamstring problem. The two centre-backs have been sidelined since, and the manager has confirmed the pair won’t play until 2025. They’ll miss Spurs’ next three games at least.

Ben Davies‘ hamstring issue leaves Radu Dragusin as the club’s only available senior centre-half.

There’s also a fresh concern from the weekend’s 5-0 win at Southampton. Destiny Udogie limped off in the first half on the south coast, and while his withdrawal has since been confirmed as precautionary, the Italian international is a doubt for Thursday’s cup tie.

“Destiny, no injury, but he’s still a bit sore from the game. Not ruling him out but we’ll see how he is with the turnaround,” Postecoglou said.

Yves Bissouma is available once again after serving a suspension at the weekend, but Spurs are still without Rodrigo Bentancur after his seven-game ban was upheld by the FA.

The Uruguayan international has been able to feature in the Europa League while he’s been sidelined domestically. He should be back in Premier League action on Boxing Day.

Richarlison hasn’t caught a break this season due to various injuries, and he’s been out of action since early November after picking up a hamstring problem having just celebrated his return from the sidelines.

Postecoglou has said he could be back at the start of the new year.

Summer arrival Wilson Odobert offered flashes at the start of his Tottenham career, but a hamstring injury has kept him out since the autumn. After undergoing surgery to resolve the nagging issue, the winger isn’t expected back until February at the earliest.

On a brighter note, Spurs could have teenager Mikey Moore available for Thursday’s game. Moore has been out for almost two months due to an unspecified illness, but Ange confirmed that the teenager is back in training.
