Ex-RTE star ‘devastated’ as husband’s rushed to hospital days after destination wedding in Italy

‘We should be off on our mini moon tomorrow morning’

EX-RTE star Niamh Cullen has been left “devastated” after things went “downhill” at her destination wedding in Italy.

The Dublin beauty, who competed in RTE’s Hell Week in 2021, got married to her husband Jamie in a dream in Italy last Friday on November 8, 2024.

The couple’s family and friends gathered to watch them say their I do’s in the stunning ceremony in Umbria.

However, things took a turn for the worst just days after their special day.

Niamh took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking update as Jamie fell ill and had to be rushed into the hospital.

The 32-year-old shared a snap from the side of Jamie’s hospital bed and said: “Not how we planned the last 48 hours.

“Poor Jamie has been so sick since the wedding, he made our day two for like 30 minutes and when we left to head to Rome it went downhill.

“He is in the best place and here now for another few days.”

Niamh then posted a sweet photo of Jamie looking very happy on their wedding day and said: ” My incredibly handsome husband.

“Devastated how our first week of marriage has gone but you are so resilient and I love you so much!

“I loved your suit just as much as I loved my dress.”

And unfortunately Niamh revealed today that they can’t go on their mini moon that they had planned due to Jamie’s illness.

She posted gorgeous wedding photos and said: “One week married. We should be off on our mini moon tomorrow morning.

“But I look back at these magical photos and they fill me with so much happiness! Best day of our lives.”

Niamh’s friends and fans all rushed to the comment section with love and support.

Influencer Bonnie Ryan wrote: “I want to be back and do it all again! Love you both!!”
