A young woman from Nigeria has recounted her distressing experience following a second ear piercing that led to the development of a keloid, necessitating surgical intervention and additional treatments.
In a video that has gained significant attention on TikTok, user @_therealnugwa detailed how what began as a minor piercing evolved into a serious health issue over the course of two years, culminating in a keloid that resembled the size of a peanut at the piercing site.
She included the caption: “If only I knew what was waiting for me.”
Despite successfully undergoing surgery, she disclosed that she is required to undergo cryotherapy to mitigate the risk of the keloid reemerging.
She stated, “There’s a high tendency for it to grow back, according to my doctor. I just had the surgery, so I still need to undergo a procedure called cryotherapy to prevent it from returning.”
