“This is amazing” – Atalanta star Lookman stunned by young Nigerian artist’s unique stamp artwork

Atalanta forward and newly crowned CAF Africa Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman has been left in awe by the extraordinary artistic talents of young Nigerian creative Tobi Adebayo, Soccernet.ng reports.

Adebayo created a remarkable piece of art celebrating Lookman’s latest achievement, which has since captured the imagination of fans worldwide.

The talented artist reproduced an image of Lookman in regal Yoruba agbada attire, holding his prestigious CAF award, using an unconventional yet ingenious technique: a customized stamp.

Rather than relying on traditional tools like pencils or brushes, Adebayo meticulously crafted his artwork by repeatedly stamping an African flag with football designs at the corners.

The end result was a stunning and intricate piece that showcased both creativity and cultural pride.

Adebayo shared a video on Twitter, documenting the entire process from start to finish.

The post caught Lookman’s attention, and the forward responded with amazement and gratitude, tweeting: “This is amazing Thank you for making this piece. Very talented!”

This heartwarming interaction comes on the heels of a milestone week for Lookman.

On Monday, December 16th, in Marrakech, Morocco, he was named the 2024 CAF Africa Player of the Year, becoming only the sixth Nigerian to win the prestigious award.

The 27-year-old joined an illustrious list of past Nigerian winners, including Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amunike, Victor Ikpeba, Nwankwo Kanu, and Victor Osimhen.

Lookman’s recognition follows a stellar year on the pitch, during which he played pivotal roles in Nigeria’s silver-medal finish at the Africa Cup of Nations and Atalanta’s historic first-ever European title win.

He also secured back-to-back Atalanta Player of the Season awards and finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings.

The forward capped off his remarkable week with a goal in Atalanta’s thrilling 3-2 Serie A victory over Empoli.

Amid a flurry of congratulations from football legends and dignitaries, it is Adebayo’s unique tribute that has truly stood out, leaving Lookman – and fans everywhere – stunned and inspired.
