ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a break-in at the home of Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow Monday night while he was in Dallas for Monday Night Football, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman confirmed.
The deputies responded to the Anderson Township house some time after 8 p.m. , sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kyla Woods said. She said the scene was still active and detectives were still interviewing witnesses Tuesday afternoon.
A woman called 911 to say her daughter was in the home at the time. She gave Burrow’s address and said “this is Joe Burrow’s house.”
“He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do. Should she be hiding or should she be going outside.”
“She said someone was in the house.”
A woman called from Burrow’s home saying “someone broke into my house.” A man can be heard in background, and gives his name and is verified by 911 operator as an off-duty Hamilton County special deputy providing security detail.
She later tells the deputy and 911 operator “the whole entire bedroom is” a mess and asks for more officers to come.
Burrow led the Bengals to a 27-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys Monday.
The incident comes as the NFL and other sports leagues have put their star players on alert for possible break-ins and burglaries following thefts at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The break-in happened the day before Burrow’s 28th birthday.
