Rudy Giuliani Ordered to Turn Over Basically All Earthly Possessions to Election Workers He Defamed

With the 2024 election a mere two weeks away, here’s a free and timely tip for anyone thinking of lying about the outcome and smearing innocent individuals in the process: don’t do it, or you might wind up like Rudy Giuliani, whose humiliating downfall students of history will be reading about for years to come.

Most recently, that downfall has involved being ordered by a federal judge to turn over his Manhattan apartment to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, the Georgia election workers he was found liable for defaming and to whom he was instructed to pay nearly $150 million last year, which led to him filing for bankruptcy. And the apartment is not all Giuliani’s being forced to part with—the former New York City mayor has also been ordered to fork over:

  • More than two dozen luxury watches
  • A shirt signed by Joe DiMaggio
  • A photo signed by Reggie Jackson
  • A signed Yankee Stadium photo
  • Other sports memorabilia
  • Various pieces of furniture
  • A TV
  • A diamond ring
  • Costume jewelry
  • A 1980 Mercedes-Benz once owned by Lauren Bacall
  • Millions of dollars he says are owed to him by Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign and the Republican National Committee
  • The cash in two Citibank checking accounts
  • “Any additional property as may be ordered by the Court upon motion of Receivers or other judgment creditors of Defendant”

According to the court filing, Judge Lewis Liman has deferred a decision on whether to make Giuliani turn over his Palm Beach condo until a hearing later this month. He has also deferred judgment on what to do with three Yankees World Series rings that Giuliani’s son, Andrew Giuliani, claims were given to him as gifts.

Anyway, yeah, don’t be like Rudy!
