Soccer POTM and GOTM: Super Eagles star Ola Aina bags two Nottingham Forest awards for November

Nigerian international Ola Aina has capped a stellar November by winning Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards, Soccernet.ng reports.

The versatile defender, who joined the club in the summer of 2023, has quickly established himself as a key figure under Nuno Espírito Santo.

Aina’s memorable month was highlighted by his sensational left-footed strike in Forest’s 3-0 win over West Ham United at the City Ground.

Cutting inside from the left flank, the 28-year-old unleashed a thunderous shot into the top corner, securing his first goal for the club.

Fans voted the goal as Forest’s best for November, earning him the Goal of the Month accolade.

Defensively, Aina was equally impressive. His standout performances on both flanks helped the Tricky Trees keep two crucial clean sheets, including a resolute display in the 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town last weekend.

Across 14 league appearances this season, his contributions have combined defensive solidity with attacking flair.

Forest fans have embraced Aina’s consistent performances, voting him their Player of the Month for November. The former Chelsea and Torino man’s efforts were enough to beat prolific striker Chris Wood to the award.

Nottingham Forest will look to build on their recent momentum when they visit Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, with Aina expected to play a vital role.

His current form will undoubtedly boost his confidence as he aims to continue delivering for both club and country.
