Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi delivered a standout performance for Fulham, scoring twice in their thrilling 3-1 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion on Matchday 14 of the Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Iwobi, 28, wasted no time putting Marco Silva’s side ahead, capitalising on a costly mistake by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen just four minutes into the match. The midfielder seized the opportunity to lash home the opener and set the tone for the encounter.

Brighton responded strongly after the break, with Carlos Baleba levelling the scoreline early in the second half. However, Fulham regained their lead when Matt O’Riley inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

Iwobi sealed the victory in spectacular fashion in the 87th minute. Navigating through a cluster of Brighton defenders, he unleashed a stunning curling effort from outside the box, securing all three points for the London outfit.

Reflecting on his goals via Fulham’s club website, Iwobi said: “Yeah, I mean, the first one, we know Brighton had to play out from the back. So we had like a structure to try and press them. Obviously, at times, everyone makes a mistake. So I was able to capitalize on the mistake.

“And then the second goal, I mean, I felt like I was fighting for my dear life trying to get the ball off one of the players. Then when I got a bit of space and time, I tried to keep myself composed and hit the target. There was a little deflection but they all count as long as they go in, I don’t mind.”

The Cottagers are set to face Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea in their next four Premier League fixtures. They will be counting on the Super Eagles midfielder to deliver pivotal performances in these challenging encounters.
