What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Whenever I can remember I’ve always been on a football field with my dad coaching. So as far as I remember I’ve always wanted to play football.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

When we won a regional championship in high school and winning the conference championship in 2022 against Truman State.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

If the opportunity is there to keep playing, I want to be the best player I can be and keep winning.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Christian McCaffrey, he’s always been a guy I’ve looked up to, why I wear number 5 and would love to just see what he has to say.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mom and dad, my dad because of growing up seeing all the things he did as a football player and what he has taught me, and his work ethic inspired me. And my mom because of all the things she has been through in the last 2-3 years and she’s tough as nails and that’s why she inspires me.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

4-2-5, I’ve ran that the past couple of years and as a linebacker it allows you to make certain plays.

What should we know about Clay Schulte the person?

Pretty laid-back guy, enjoy fishing and being on the lake in my spare time.

What stands out about your film the most?

I’m around the ball all the time and don’t take any plays off in game or practice and I don’t miss tackles and I’m always flying to the ball.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I’ve always attacked them and never stop until I complete the challenge. If I want to do something I usually go get it done.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Very hardworking guy, who does extra, who always wants to win and hates losing and who wants to do what it takes to win and does the right things.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the physicality of it, love contact, and you could be as violent as you want legally for four quarters.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Kole Viel, he’s a very good football player, fly’s around, is fast and strong and makes a lot of tackles, but i could’ve said any of my teammates and they would’ve fit the description.
