Juhi Chawla is one of the leading actresses in Indian cinema, known for her comic timing and vivacious on-screen persona. The actress is celebrating her 57th birthday on Wednesday, November 13. Born on November 13, 1967, the actress made her debut in the film industry with the 1986 film Sultanat.

She primarily worked in Hindi films but also featured in Kannada, Punjabi, Telugu, Bengali, Tamil and Malayalam films. Among her hit films were Pratibandh, Bol Radha Bol, Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Darr, Yes Boss and Daraar, among others. Her remarkable journey in the film industry has earned her numerous accolades.

The actress rose to fame with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), for which she also won the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year and received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She has cultivated a robust and devoted fan following throughout her career.

Juhi Chawla married industrialist Jay Mehta and had two children with him. According to a GQ report, the power couple are proud owners of ultra-expensive assets.

Chawla recently grabbed headlines with her appearance on the Hurun India Rich List. As per the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, she bagged the sixth position in the top 10 self-made women list. She is the richest actress in the country, with a net worth of a staggering ₹4,600 crore. With this, she is also the second richest actor in India, next to Shah Rukh Khan.

She is the co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders, along with her husband Jay Mehta and Shah Rukh Khan.

In 2000, she also opened a production company called Dreamz Unlimited, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Aziz Mirza. The production company produced three films, starting with Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.

On the professional front, Chawla last appeared in the television miniseries The Railway Men in 2023. The actress played Rajeshwari Janglay in the historical drama. The series follows the story of railway workers who saved many lives during the 1984 toxic gas leak in Bhopal. Directed by Shiv Rawail, it also stars R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu and Babil Khan.
