College Prospects to Watch: Rivalry Week Edition

Football

As always, the last weekend of college football will have major implications for the postseason ahead. The new 12-team playoff only raises the stakes.

With just six more weekends of the NFL regular season left, the New Orleans Saints have shown clear needs to fill in the 2025 NFL Draft. Here are four prospects that Saints fans should watch this weekend.

Nick Emmanwori – Safety, South Carolina

NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 1st – Mid

Emmanwori has been one of the SEC’s top defensive backs all season, and he’s earned his spot as the second highest-ranked safety in the draft. The Saints could use help as safety after failing to make an offseason signing this summer. He already has four interceptions this year and will need to continue his lockdown defense against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday.

DJ Campbell – Offensive Guard, Texas

NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 2nd – Mid

Offensive guard has been one of New Orleans’ biggest weaknesses this season. Campbell is a second-round prospect that could be a starter on day one. He’s an elite run-blocker and could bring back consistency to any NFL team’s run game if properly developed. The Longhorns have a massive game against the Texas A&M Aggies, and Campbell will need to give quarterback Quinn Ewers ample time to pick apart a spotty Aggie defense.

Kalel Mullings – Running Back, Michigan

NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 2nd – Mid

Mullings is a top-five running back prospect who could be available in the second round for New Orleans. He’s a classic workhorse back who excels in short-yardage opportunities but can still break free and win with agility. Adding depth to the running back room could be a successful strategy for New Orleans, a team that does not have a solid running back room besides Alvin Kamara.

Sonny Styles – Cornerback, Ohio State

NFL Draft Buzz Projection: 2nd – Mid

Sonny Styles is an elite, physical cornerback who is one of the best tackling defensive backs in next year’s draft. He currently has 32 tackles and four sacks this season but has also been essential to Ohio State’s staunch pass defense. The Saints need depth at cornerback, and perhaps Styles is the next man up in New Orleans.
