Bitesize Prediction: Toulouse vs Montpellier – 03/05/24

Soccer

Competition: Ligue 1

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/6 @ 1xBet

Two sides who have their sights set on securing a top-half finish this season, Toulouse will welcome Montpellier to the Stadium Municipal on Friday evening.

Starting with the hosts, while Toulouse might have opened up 2024 in the midst of a real Ligue 1 struggle, Les Violets have come roaring back in some style. Skyrocketing their way up the table and finding a route into the top-half, Carles Novell’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Last seen mounting a dramatic second-half comeback away at Lorient as they clinched a 2-1 victory, the one-time Barcelona coach has not seen his squad suffer a single defeat from any of their previous five appearances. Making a real statement last month as they secured a stellar 2-1 win away at Rennes, Toulouse have also found a recent clinical edge in the final third. Signing off March with a routine 3-0 romp against Clermont, Friday’s hosts have now bagged at least a pair of goals in five of their previous six showdowns. However, it should be noted, Novell’s side have seen four of their last five appearances at the Stadium Municipal finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, also enjoying their own Ligue 1 purple patch, Montpellier find themselves sat in an almost identical position to Friday’s hosts. Dragging themselves away from a looming relegation scrap and receiving plenty of recent plaudits, Michel Der Zakarian’s men are unbeaten in all of their previous five top-flight appearances. Likewise, with an action-packed 6-2 loss against French giants PSG their only defeat since the end of February, La Paillade will be excited by their success on the road. Last seen away from the Stade de la Mosson picking up an eye-catching 2-1 victory against Reims, Montpellier have collected 10 points from their previous four Ligue 1 showdowns outside of Occitanie. Collecting a routine 3-0 romp when they welcomed Toulouse to town for their reverse meeting on October 29th, Der Zakarian’s side will be desperate for a repeat performance here. However, with Friday’s guests seeing five of their last six away fixtures finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome this weekend.

Bet: Both teams to score at Toulouse vs Montpellier 4/6 for Friday’s Ligue 1 battle @ 1xBet
