The world of TV sports is set to undergo a major shake-up with three of the biggest heavyweights coming together.
Fox Corp., Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney are teaming up to launch a new joint streaming service venture according to The Wall Street Journal. The new service is targeting a launch this Fall.
Each company will own one-third of the venture with the combined effort putting all of their sporting assets under one roof – ESPN, TNT and Fox Sports melded into a single new standalone app with a new brand and an independent management team.
The service will be available to Max, Hulu and ESPN+ subscribers. Formation of the streaming platform is reportedly subject to negotiation of agreements among the companies.
The company will reportedly offer live streams and games from all three companies. They will also reportedly feature major college and pro games which are usually seen only on traditional TV.
Pricing and a name for the service have yet to be determined.
