A noted journalist, Brendan Tobin recently spoke with Butler and initially asked him about his thoughts on Mourning being excited about the New York Knicks vs Miami Heat rivalry getting renewed again. The 33-year-old said he is keeping his attitude the same as it was before and looking forward to competing and picking up wins as they probably have a chance of winning the title this year. Following this, the interviewer asked him about his thoughts on the Heat legend calling him his hero.

Butler responded by saying, “I think that was a spur of the moment, I ain’t nobody’s hero. I’m just a decent basketball player that’s so fortunate to put on a Heat uniform and compete with these teammates and those historic players and HOFers we’ve had.”

The 6ft 7 forward has always received praise for his performance, especially in the playoffs but this time those compliments reached an all-time high as he eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks. Though it’s not easy to remain calm after receiving praise from not only fans but these kinds of legends, Butler is seemingly trying to control his emotions as much as possible. It seems like the 33-year-old is only focusing on today’s game against the Knicks and would start only expressing his emotions after getting his hands on the coveted gold trophy.

The six-time All-Star drew many positive responses from fans with his statements.

A few users stated Jimmy G. Buckets is their hero too!

He is my hero man. Been a Miami fan for 8 or 9 years now and I loved him in Chicago, likewise at the wolves and Philly. I was as excited as anyone when he came to the 305 man. Just to see all the work he is putting in and his production is just phenomenal, feels like a dream man.
