That was WNBA player Brittney Griner speaking during her first news conference since she was released from Russian imprisonment in December. While she has made appearances at the Super Bowl, the Phoenix Open and a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event in her Phoenix hometown, she’s largely stayed out of the public eye since she returned home.
Griner, 32, was arrested in Moscow’s airport last year and detained for 10 months (nine spent in prison) on drug charges for possession and smuggling of less than a gram of hashish oil.
